Jordan Ramis PC shareholder John R. Bachofner was recently elected to the Oregon State Bar’s Board of Governors, and to chair the Litigation Section of the Bar. Beginning January 1, 2016, Bachofner will serve as the Board’s out-of-state region member for four years and the Litigation Section Chair for one year.
The Board of Governors is the regulating body for lawyers admitted to practice law in Oregon. It consists of 14 lawyers and four public members. Their responsibilities include determining general policies for Oregon attorneys, advancing the science of jurisprudence, improvement of the administration of justice, and approving the Oregon State Bar’s budget each year. The Litigation Section consists of Oregon lawyers who practice in trial courts throughout the state. Already Co-Chair of the litigation practice group at Jordan Ramis PC, Bachofner will assume leadership for the Oregon State Bar’s Litigation Section in 2016.

Bachofner has volunteered in many capacities for the Oregon State bar. He has been an elected member of the Oregon State Bar House of Delegates since 2000, and has chaired and served on various task forces and committees. In 1994, he received the President’s Public Service Award from the Oregon State bar.
Admitted in Oregon and Washington, Bachofner focuses his practice on litigation and jury trials involving business, insurance coverage, and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Jordan Ramis PC, has practiced for more than two decades, and is AV Preeminent® rated by Martindale-Hubbell®, the organization’s highest rating.
